Hey, I'm Tina!

An Alaskan born girl, I found my love of travel at an early age.  The many trips to Texas, New Mexico, a fun Spring Break trip to Hawaii and road trips across the west coast as a kid brought on dreams of travel to far away places.  I never really thought my dream of riding a gondola in Venice would ever come true, but it did.

We lived the expat life for almost 17 years in 5 different countries across Europe.  You can read more about that on my A Global Life page.   Asking any of us where we're from can bring on a bit of panic!

We went from a family of 2 to a family of 5 in just 8 months through adoption and birth, as expats in Prague.  Our 3 kids are less than 14 months apart. Crazy at times?  Certainly!  You can read about our whole journey on Our Path to Parenthood page.

I can't forget about the hubby!  He shoots a good bit of the photos you see here.

Feel free to contact me if you have more questions.  I love talking to people about living as expats, repatriating, Christianity, travel, infertility, adoption and anything, really!

Thanks for stopping by Girl Meets Globe!

  5. Wow, you have a truly fascinating story Tina! So glad I found your blog through Bonnie Rose. An Alaskan in Europe?! What a stretch? I'm from the Midwest and ended up as an expat for a few years in England. Amazing memories to last a lifetime.

Did you ever make it to Australia? I just wrote about our trip on the blog last week, check it out.. Maybe it'll give you some ideas.

    See you around!

    New Post: Off the Yucatan

  6. Hi Tina, what a great blog you have. As a Dutch person living and working in Hong Kong (part time at Urban Discovery), I know exactly what kind of guidance expats may need! If you ever find yourself in the neighbourhood, make sure to drop me an email so I can give you some insider knowledge about exploring Hong Kong's local areas, food and culture! (Don't mean to advertise here, really! We're a non-profit social enterprise aimed at keeping heritage alive...)
